Oakley and the Chickens

Oakley is having fun playing with the chickens. The chickens are getting big now.

Cute Baby Chickens

We got 6 baby chickens yesterday all different kinds too so we will have different color eggs :) I was going to say they are all so cute but really they are all cute but one. One of our chickens is already a few weeks older than the others its bigger and really not cute its black and red and kind of freaky i call it our devil chicken. It is supposed to be really cool when its full grown though so we will see. So far thats the only one with a nickname but im sure they will all get names soon enough. We brought them home and let the dogs see them and it was so cute, funny and sad all at the same time. Oakley of course loves them and wants to chase them and play with them what she doesnt get is the ones she usually plays with are dead and if she trys to play with these ones she will kill them. Oakley is a little sad that she cant play with them. Hahaha Bella seems to like them she gets right next to them and just sniffs them but she seems to like them its cute. Next toby I put him up next to one and it moved its head really fast to look at toby and it scared the crap out of him he will get no where near them its sad but so funny and cute all at the same time im sure they will grow on him. Since they are still babies they wont start laying eggs for about 6 months but I will let you know how they are doing and more pictures as they get bigger.

Chickens

Jake and I have decided to get chickens. The other day we were buying eggs again and jokingly i said "We need to just get chickens so we dont have to keep buying so many eggs." Jake laughed and a few days later said "So what kind of chickens should we get?" I said "Babe I was totally joking" Jake-"I know but i am serious." :) So we are getting chickens. Im not sure how I really feel yet because I think it would be cool to have them and to have fresh eggs but at the same time birds are just kind of sick. So we will see how it goes the deal is we can have them as long as I dont have to touch them or anything. Who knows maybe they will grow on me. It should be fun!!! :) I will keep you updated on what kind we choose and how I end up liking them. I will also have to put some pictures of them up when we get them because they will be cute little babies when we first get them.
